Before Helen got "into" ceramics, she was a big polymer clay aficionado. Here she reprises her old hobby in the form of beads, pendants, and focal pieces that resemble carved soapstone or marble. The goal in this class is to create talismanic-style beads that evoke a sense of ancient history. Translucent polymer clay will be colored with an assortment of agents, then impressed with designs and highlighted to bring out the patterns. We'll then use a Dremel tool to drill holes wherever we see fit. Emphasis will be on organic-looking beads over perfectly-formed beads. This is a fun class suitable for all skill levels. Strong hand strength is required. All materials are included in your class fee for several beads and pieces as time permits.
